Today's backpacks are ideal for school or practice. They are often so comfortable that sometimes you will even forget that you are wearing one. Unless you have it jammed with soccer gear, and other important stuff (like school books?).

The first thing that you will want to look at is the size. If you pick a bag that is going to slap your butt when you walk it is probably too big. And filling it up will make it too heavy. Don't compromise your health by carrying a bag that is too big, or too heavy. You will regret it.

Materials

Most are made with a combination of polyester and PVC plastic to provide a long useful life for your carry bag. The shoulder straps are padded with foam to provide extra comfort when carrying your bag.

Tips

Carry it over both shoulders. Don't get lopsided.
The bottom of the pack should be above your butt.
A waist strap will help balance the weight so your back is not taking all the weight.
If you really need to carry a lot of stuff look into a wheeled model.

Although soccer backpacks are a sensible purchase just for the convenience, it is also nice to flaunt your chosen team along with wearing their soccer jerseys.
