Womens indoor soccer shoes
are designed to suit the tastes and styles of female soccer players. No
longer do women have to put up with soccer footwear made for men. You
get to choose colors that suit you and who you are.
If you like the standard mens color and styles, then go ahead and make
that choice. However, if you would prefer to show that you are an
individual pick the color and style that says who you are.
Lightweight
Womens indoor soccer shoes can be as light a 8 ounces.
That will allow you to move quickly and experiment with those tricks
that you have been working on.
This
light weight can be attributed to mesh and
microfiber uppers that are light but tough enough to take the
abuse that you will give them.
Who Makes Them
The major soccer shoe manufacturers all make
indoor
soccer shoes for women. Nike, Puma, Adidas, and Lotto all have models
unique to women. You have numerous choices from each maker and what you
choose will depend on what features you want.
Terminology
An indoor soccer shoe is made up of the upper, the
midsole, insole, and the sole.
The
Upper - the top
visible part of a shoe.
- The
Insole - The lining
running the full length of the inside of the shoe.
- The
Mid-sole - A layer of
material fitted between the sole and insole. Provides cushioning and
strength.
- Sole
- The bottom.
- EVA (Ethylene
Vinyl Acetate) -A synthetic. It gives
cushioning to your foot. It is shaped by pressure and heat.
The
Upper
The upper of the
shoe can be made from leather,
synthetics, and fabrics. These ingedients can also be combined for a
shoe upper. Some models have a reinforced toe cap for added durability.
The lacing in the upper can be:
- Straight up the shoe like a normal sneaker.
- Asymmetrical (offset), to alllow better ball striking, and
helps reduce pressure on the top of the foot.
- Covered,
to further improve ball striking.
Leather
will provide a better feel for the ball, and is
usually more expensive than fabrics or synthetics. However, synthtetics
will last longer.
Insole
The insole is usually made of EVA. Some manufacturers
will inject the EVA while others place a pre-formed insert into the
shoe. Some models will be removable, but others are meant to stay in
the shoe.
The
Sole
The sole on womens indoor soccer shoes are
made mostly from
rubber. Each company has a tread design that they feel will maximize
your traction. Some makers have rubber stubs included in their design
as they feel it will give you good footing. Soles are non-marking to
ensure that the indoor soccer surface remains marked only with the
lines that are required by the game.
Safety First
Playing indoor soccer is not meant for sneakers. If you think
that you
can get away with wearing sneakers, I suggest that you think safety
first. Choose a pair of indoor soccer shoes that meet your soccer
needs, and show your style.
